Bhrigu Nandi Nadi
Bhrigu Nandi Nadi — what it is, what it added, and what we retired from it.
Bhrigu Nandi Nadi — R. G. Rao (compiler).
Edition consulted: no publisher, date, ISBN or translator stated anywhere in the front matter.
What kind of text this is
Compiler states he assembled it himself: ‘I have taken some portions from Nandi Nadi and some from Bhrigu Nadi.’ Heavy systematic OCR corruption; quotations preserved verbatim with artifacts intact rather than silently repaired.
What it contributed
nadi-specimen-is-real — novel. Chart 503 - the only specimen printing its own positions - resolved against Swiss Ephemeris to 1870-03-30/31/04-01 under Raman ayanamsa; zero matches under Lahiri across 182,622 days.
Corrects our own ‘externally untestable’ classification. The specimens are real nativities, and the tradition is a datable Raman-ayanamsa South Indian practice, not an ancient one.
declined-check-recorded — novel. The same reading predicts death c. May 1941 - checkable, and deliberately not checked.
Death-timing is excluded by architecture and scoring a prediction against a private individual is out of bounds. Recording the declination is different from claiming the check is impossible.
What we do not carry from it
- Chart 1 — Reading a contact as an event is arithmetic; reading the count of contacts as a headcount of relatives is a category jump the text never justifies, and it is used almost entirely for “number of sons” material the method already retires. Kept on the register because it is the book’s most-used inference and a reader will meet it immediately.
- Introduction — An unfalsifiability device stated as method. Nothing in any essence implies it, and it is exactly the practice the product exists against. Published on the deletion register rather than quietly dropped, because naming it is the most useful thing this source offers.
- Chart 406 — The theological form of the same disconfirmation-absorbing move. Stated openly and without concealment, which is why we record it as doctrine rather than as deception - but it cannot enter a deliverable, because it makes every error unattributable.
- Chart 6 — The caste system given a metaphysical warrant - low birth as the karmic penalty for sin. No structural observation sits underneath it, so it is deleted outright with no modern equivalent. The single most objectionable line in the book.
- Chart 2; Chart 202; Chart 501 — Caste is not appended here, it is wired into a karakatva - Rahu-as-Chandala does live interpretive work, caste is a chart output, and the remedies are caste-structured (gifts to a Brahmin widow). Retiring it means rewriting a karakatva rather than deleting a paragraph, and we say so rather than implying a clean excision.
- Chart 202; Chart 382; Chart 384 — A structural asymmetry, not scattered remarks: the method routes a woman’s chart through a man’s karaka, so her life is narrated as his fortunes. Retired per the method’s rule on stri-jataka material, together with the accompanying unchaste/concubine/elopement vocabulary.
- Chart 1; Chart 502; Chart 503 — Longevity and death-timing are excluded upstream by product architecture, before this method note applies. Recorded rather than dropped because it is the book’s most falsifiable output - a death at 53 in a named month on a named tithi could be checked, and the exclusion is ours, not a judgement that the claim is meaningless.
- Vastu Hara passage, before Chart 500 — Adultery, childlessness and moral character read off the entrances of houses in passing, with the text’s only claimed external verification attached and no source for it. Unsourced self-report about named neighbours; nothing in any essence implies it.

We quote and cite; we do not republish. Most translations in this corpus are in copyright, and the public-domain ones are better served by the Internet Archive than by a copy here. Citations give chapter and verse so any claim can be checked against your own edition.
