What kind of text this is
LOWEST in the corpus. A 20th-c. synthesis by one author from Devanagari/Kannada/Telugu manuscripts of varying completeness; adhyayas 3 and 4 were believed lost, recovered in a 1936 Kannada copy, and interpreted orally for him by a single Kerala astrologer.
What it contributed
atmakaraka-two-layers — novel. Naisargika AK (always the Sun) distinguished from chara AK (highest degree).
Reconciles the Jaimini apparatus with the essence verse - both say the Sun is the soul; the chara AK says what it is working on now.
ak-reflects-whole-chart — novel. AK strength taken as proxy for whole-chart strength.
Turns ‘the soft spot is also the soul-significator’ from a poignant observation into a rule.
jaimini-transmission-thin — novel. Preface documents lost-then-recovered adhyayas and oral interpretation behind the modern synthesis.
